History

Buzzer Buses originated as the Leighton Linslade & Disrtrict Community Transport Association that started operating in1991. This was initially a single vehicle borrowed from the MS Society and driven by volunteers providing the first disabled transport to the people of Leighton Buzzard. Buzzer Buses has since grown in scope and stature to become a professionally run organisation with full charitable status, registered with the Charity Commision.

A successful lottery funding application in 2000 saw a brand new fleet of four minibuses arrive and a fifth vehicle came on board in 2003 to be used for trips and outings.

In 2005 we converted from an Industrial Provident Society losing our old LL&DCTA name, to a fully fledged charity and company limited by guarantee called Buzzer Buses (Dial a Ride) Ltd. Since then we have acquired further vehicles, bringing our fleet up to its current size of eight wheelchair accessible vehicles.
